In verse 15-20 of Colossians 1 Paul has broken out into a song of praise. He is praising Jesus for being at the center of all things. Jesus was at the center of creation. He made it all. He is currently sustaining all things. We have life and breath because Jesus is at the center holding it all together. Paul also praises Jesus for being at the center of salvation. In verses 21-23 he moves his attention towards the Colossians as he reminds them Jesus impact on their lives specifically. Jesus has reconciled them from their past, by His death, and to a new life. These thoughts on reconciliation should remind us where we have come from, how we got here and where we are to be going in life.
